Lake Manyara National Park

Stretching for 50km along the base of the rusty-gold 600-metre high Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is a scenic gem. The compact game-viewing circuit through Manyara offers a virtual microcosm of the Tanzanian safari experience. Large Buffalo, Wildebeest and zebra herds as well as giraffes are gathering on these green plains. The thin belt of acacia trees inside the swamp area attracts lions, which climb on these trees as well as elephants. Troops of banded mongoose dash between acacia trees, while small Kirk-Dikdiks dig for food under the shadow of the trees. Further, Manyara perfectly introduces to you the bird life, hosting about 400 different species.
