One of the largest elephant population of east Africa can be found in this National Park. The park is rather accessible with impassable, half dry bush land. Its lifeline is the great Ruaha river, which cleaves its way during peak time of the wet season. During the dry season, impalas, waterbucks and other antelopes risk their lives for one mouthful of water. Danger is not only due to the pride of 20 or more lions, which dominate the savanna, but also from stalking cheetahs and lurking leopards. The spectacular group of predators is even strengthened by striped and spotted hyenas. Moreover, you can find large populations of grant antelopes, Kudus as well as sable antelopes and roan antelopes.
