Per person in double room from €37 per night including breakfast. Renovated in autumn 2010, this cozy lodge is located next to the sandy beach and next to a little tropical forest, home of the red Colobus monkeys, which gave the lodge its name. In front of the red monkey lodge is a two kilometer long sand bank, which reaches from the beach deep into the water and about two kilometers off the coast, a coral reef is located where you can find best diving conditions. The lodge consists of seven one storied bungalows (nine rooms) with traditional Makuti (palm tree) roofs, a restaurant, a dhow bar, a kite and boarding center and a beach chill-out area with deck chairs and parasols.
Our opinion: simple and elegantly furnished you are not able to find any mass tourism here. The island, its inhabitants and the ocean are in the foreground and generate a barefoot feeling.

The blue Oyster, a small and familiar hotel is located right next to the white beaches of Jambiani and scenic bordered by palm trees. It is the perfect choice, if you are searching a piece of untouched earth for dreaming and relaxing. The small, comfortable hotel (13 rooms) is furnished accordingly and offers an extensive service. The quiet rooms, which are arranged in the inner courtyard and surrounded by coconut palm trees, always offer a bit of cooling-off.
Our opinion: small, elegant familiar hotel with a well run kitchen, invites for relaxing and dreaming.
